Mission of the CJSA:
To provide youth swine exhibitors in Colorado with a network
of support and opportunity to gain knowledge in the
purebred, showpig and commercial swine industry.
ATTENTION COLORADO SWINE EXHIBITORS
With the recent formation of the Colorado Junior Swine Association,
junior swine exhibitors ages 5-21 will now have added incentive to be
more actively involved during the spring and summer open show circuit.
The CJSA will be comprised of several sanctioned shows, and seeks to
provide exhibitors with a network of support and opportunities to gain
valuable leadership skills and knowledge of the purebred and show pig
industries. The CJSA season will take place from mid April (NJC show)
until the final sanctioned event (TBA). Points will be accumulated at
each show which the exhibitor participates and will result in the
awarding of several exciting prizes at a banquet tentatively scheduled
during the Colorado State Fair.
Members will be competing for awards in multiple categories
including breed classes, showmanship for each age division,
and an overall category. Age divisions will be as follows:
Novice 5-8, Junior 9-12, Intermediate 13-16, and Senior
17-21. Membership fees
are $35 per year and include a CJSA T-shirt. Any prospective members,
age 16 and over, who are interested in being part of the Junior Board,
please send your contact information to
coswine@gmail.com.
